Kiss of Life |
Admittedly, my original theme for this piece was 'kiss of death', but that's not a great theme for selling a piece of jewellery. (damn it, now I've given the game away. doh!).
So, 'kiss of life' it became. Jewellery inspired by the sea-anemone still fits with the new theme. And, after all, life and death are two sides of the same coin. The sea anemone might be deadly to unwelcome visitors. but it has a symbiotic relationship with the clown fish, for example. The fish gets a meal, and the anemone gets cleaned to keep it healthy. Life-giving to both. Given the marine subject, it seemed right that the centre should be shell - abalone, in this case. It's hard to believe, but I think that the colour is natural. The anemone is formed from an underlying 16 points star-shaped base and 16 more small triangles of silver, each shaped to fit the curve of the stone, soldered on in 2 layers and rolled over to leave an organic look. The ring size is size M. The top is 15mm across. |
