An irreverent presentation of the jewellery made by Ian Addison

Crazy Golf

Picture
Ref: Pdt 019

Silver with plique-a-jour enamel. Rubber cord.

A one-off piece.
Sold

Well, it's 18mm square and there are 10 holes filled with enamel in the plique-a-jour style.

Actually, as well as being lazy with a name for the piece, I was lazy with the counting, too.  There are really 25 holes, the smaller ones being filled with a very pale grey enamel.

These holes are just about showing what I call the lens-effect: one of the features of good plique-a-jour work.  The curve of the enamel in the holes produces pin-points of light as it shines through them - seen here as darker centres because of the black background.  You can just see it in some of the blue holes, but hardly at all in the red (the colour is officially tea-rose). but it is there in all of them.  Oh, the challenges of photographing jewellery.

The colours are also particularly vivid because of the strong light, and the same is true of the rubber neck cord.  That is a mid-brown in reality.
