Hare Pins

If I make any more bad jokes, will it be enough to drive you round the bend?

(hair-pin bend, see.  Ha ha.  Oh, what mirth.)

I was commissioned by my fellow artist Ann Parkin to make 3 copies of this little chap from her original pewter piece.  One copy in silver was incorporated into a brooch, and the others two became pin 'badges', ie designed to be worn like lapel badges.  At least, the silver one was intended as a badge;  she had other ideas for the bronze one.

It was her wanting the bronze one that sparked off the whole hare-brained (sorry!) scheme.  She had had the original pewter hare for donkey's years and, as is the inexplicable way of things, it became a source of fascination to one of her grandchildren.

Now said grandchild is somewhat older, she decided it would be nice to create a piece of her artwork with the hare motif.  Motif became model, and now she intends to mount the hare as part of one of her mixed-media artworks, eg scenery painted but embellished with fabrics or grasses.  Who knows what will emerge.  If/when it does, I'll let you know.

So, is that enough rabbiting on from me, then?
