As with my other worry rings, the bead rolls comfortingly under your thumb but this bead is especially tactile: it has very slight 'bristling' on each facet; not so much as to be sharp, but you definitely feel it brushing your finger. A nice sensation.
The bead is ruthenium coated, giving it a light black lustre. Light black? Don't I mean grey? Oddly, no: it is black, but shiny.
The bead is 8mm diameter and ring size is slightly smaller than a size R
